It is Race day at Valencia Street Circuit for the European Grand Prix.

The race positions for the 2008 Formula 1 Telefonica Gran Prix at Valencia, Spain on 24th August.

Now that the Beijing Olympics are drawing to a close and London ready to take over the Olympics baton from Beijing, stage is set for the closing ceremony of Olympics 2008 in Beijing, China overall played a good host to the games, planned and executed the games in magnanimous proportions with a massive investment ever in Olympic history, to the tune of 47 billion dollars.

And the London Organizing committee has said it does not have any plans to match the Chinese scale of investments in its bid to host Olympics 2012. And the conditions are going to keep teams on their toes through out the race at the Valencia street circuit.

Felipe Massa has put Ferrari on to the pole position and is the starting favourite for the race with Mclarens Lewis Hamilton and BMW Sauber's in the 2,3 positions, Raikkonen who starts in fourth position was not all happy with his qualifying times but said he is optimistic if he gets a good start. Local favourite Fernando Alonso of Renault was upbeat to spring a surprise or two, who starts in the 12th position on the grid.
