With spectacular Beijing Olympics coming to a close with even more spectacular display of fireworks and all the entertainment, you could have asked for, mood was sombre at the Bird's Nest stadium as the Games draw to a close and the baton was handed over to London now, David Beckham kicked of a ball in the stands and there was some enchanting music from sensation Leona Lewis and the Rock star Led Zeppelin. The Olympics Flag was lowered in Beijing and now raised in London for the 2012 games, the World and China communicated and learned a lot from each other, a sea of humanity participated at the Beijing's spectacular Bird's Nest stadium, bringing to close the most expensive Olympics ever in the History of the games.

Felippe Massa scored a comfortable victory at the Valencia street circuit to win the race with a time of 1hr 35min 32.339 seconds, and now jumps to the 2nd position in the Drivers standings with 64 points, with Lewis Hamilton at the top with 70 points coming second in the race with a time of +00:05.611, Robert Kubica came third with 00:37:353, it was a bad day for Alonso as he could not finish the race due to an accident after the opening lap.

Newly crowned World No:1 Rafael Nadal aiming for his first US Grand Slam


World No 1 Rafael Nadal will be looking for a US open win here after the Olympics Gold in the Mens Singles and consolidate his new No 1 rankings, Roger Federer settling for the doubles gold at Beijing Olympics who lost to Nadal in the singles, will be keen to stop Nadal and reverse the string of defeats starting since the French Open last year, which eventually ended his record reigning at the top for a consecutive 4 years and bounce back to top position with a win at Flushing Meadows at the Final Grand slam of the year.

In the Women's event Serbian girls Ana Ivanovic and Jelena Djokovic will be the favourites, with Williams sisters looking formidable as ever, with Russian players Svetlana Kuznetsova, Elena Demetieva and Dinara Safina will be aiming for some upsets early into the tournament.

India is now 2-1 up in the five match Cricket ODI series in Sri Lanka

The tourists secured a win playing with only four bowlers restricting Sri Lanka to 204 all out, with Sri Lankan Skipper scoring a facile 94 being the highest scorer in the Sri Lankan innings. With this win India leads 2-1 in the five match series.

New PCB chief

Also in the news is there will be new PCB chief in September after Naseem Ashraf resigned earlier this month. Which is going to take place after the Post of President is filled up in September as the President is chief Patron of the Board.
